DOJ-AHEAD Vision

DOJ-AHEAD's goals are to assist DOJ in promoting equitable participation and full utilization of its Hispanic employees, assist DOJ in increasing the numbers of qualified Hispanics in its workforce, speak on issues affecting DOJ-AHEAD members and Hispanic employees, and develop and maintain meaningful relationships with the greater DOJ and Hispanic communities, including management and Hispanic employees.

The Department of Justice Association of Hispanic Employees for Advancement and Development, (DOJ-AHEAD), is pleased to invite you to its first event of the year, “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awareness,” in celebration of Women’s History Month. Please see below for more details.  

Keynote Speaker Joanne PaynePreyor, Retired Supervisory Special Agent.

As a Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) in the FBI New York Office (NYO), Ms. Payne-Preyor hosted and facilitated numerous Diversity Agent Recruitment events for the FBI’s Northeast Region. In addition to assisting other field offices with their recruitment efforts, she also initiated publicity campaigns to increase the number of Special Agent applicants processed through the NYO.  Ms. Payne-Preyor encouraged coordination with public and private partnerships to promote DEI in recruitment and hiring, and regularly supported Community Outreach programs to enhance liaison relationships across all communities in the New York region.  As a supervisor, Ms. Payne-Preyor supported an Outreach Team to facilitate DEI efforts. She also mentored and continues to mentor FBI employees to strive towards upward mobility and workplace goals.

During her FBI career, Ms. Payne-Preyor held positions on International Terrorism, Counterterrorism, Crimes Against Children (CAC), White Collar Crime and Special Operations Squads and Task Forces. She has expertise in liaising with the Foreign Intelligence and Law Enforcement Communities, the Private and Public sectors, and non-profit organizations.

Currently, she is an Adjunct Professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan, NY.
